My first experience with "Heart Babies" was in college when one of my friends had a niece born with HLHS. Emily Mae was a fighter and we all prayed for her daily as we checked her Care Page between breaks in classes. She fought so hard and everyone did everything possible to help this little angel, but sadly she lost her battle and received her wings and gained a healed heart in Heaven. My second experience was this year when one of my old college classmates emailed everyone to let us know that her little baby boy Derrick was born with CHD and that they needed our prayers. I checked little Derrick's Care Page for updates and sent Shannon messages of hope and prayer for her little fighter. As of right now Derrick has made it through his first heart surgery and is doing as well as can be expected. Please help us to get the word out and help to raise awareness of this issue. These babies need all the help they can get, and this includes research money. I never would have known about this condition had it not been for my friends' situations. These babies and their families are doing everything they can to fight for their "Heart Babies" but they could always use more help. The more we know about this condition the more babies they can help and the higher the survival rate will be. So please do whatever you can to help these special families and their angels. These "Heart Babies" are very special little angels that are true fighters. I have always believed that GOD places these angels with very special parents for a specific reason. Both of my friends who were blessed with these special babies are extremely religious and would not make it through this without their faith. Please pray for the families of these special babies and help us to raise awareness of this condition
